Hour of Code @ ISK
The Hour of Code programming activities range in complexity and interests that accommodate young learners, experienced students, and adults who have never before written a line of code. The tutorials and coding selections also include Computational Thinking activities that do not even require a computer, but rather emphasize the logic and algorithmic skills needed for designing systems. The elementary students in this picture are learning from one such "unplugged" activity. For the last 3 years, ISK has noticed an increasing number of girls who have completed the Hour of Code expressed interest in more programming activities. We are definitely working towards the global goal of more females developing the skills needed for design and programming employment opportunities, which are currently often filled by more men than women.
