Fostering Diplomacy: ISK Delegates at FerMUN 2024
Earlier this month, a delegation of ten ISK students had the honor of being hosted at the Palais des Nations and the International Labour Organization (ILO) building for a three-day international conference known as the Ferney-Voltaire Model United Nations (FerMUN) sponsored by the ILO. The committees debated and created resolutions on issues such as equality & youth in the workplace, AI & technology, forced & child labour, and more. During FerMUN 2024, unique for its tripartite and trilingual style, the ISK delegates represented the workers, employers, and government of Italy to the assembly, speaking in English, French, and Spanish. Beyond education, the experience went outside the confines of traditional learning, providing students with a real-world platform to apply their knowledge and engage in meaningful discussions on pressing global issues.
Overall, each student agreed that the trip was an amazing experience and a resounding success, not only in terms of academic enrichment but also in shaping their perspectives beyond education by immersing them in the practical aspects of international collaboration and diplomacy.
