Celebrating 50 Years of ISK: Join the Journey

Dear ISK Community,

As we step into ISK’s 50th anniversary year, we are filled with gratitude, pride, and a deep sense of nostalgia for the remarkable journey that has brought us to this moment. For five decades, ISK has been shaped by the people who learned, taught, dreamed, volunteered, celebrated, persisted, and belonged here. Every class, tradition, and milestone has carried us forward—and today, we honor that legacy.

To begin this celebration, we are delighted to share a teaser of the 50th anniversary timeline. This will give you a glimpse into ISK’s historical timeline (note that it’s in two parts, 1975 to 2018 and 2018 to present)—a living tribute to the initiatives, growth, and world events that shaped us into the vibrant community we are today. It is a powerful reminder of the visionaries, families, educators, and students who built this extraordinary school year by year. We encourage you to take this journey with your children at home to learn about the generations who came before them.

Throughout 2026, from January to December, we will mark this milestone with a series of community events, learning experiences, and celebratory initiatives designed to honor our past and inspire our next 50 years. There will be opportunities for families, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of ISK to participate in meaningful ways—more details will be shared as the year unfolds.

In keeping with our African heritage and the spirit of unity that defines ISK, we are thrilled to introduce a limited-edition 50th Anniversary ISK Kanga. Across many African cultures, wearing matching prints symbolizes community, togetherness, and love. This specially designed fabric will serve as a vibrant expression of our shared identity during this milestone year.

The kanga will be available for families to transform into clothing, household items, and other creative pieces that showcase both individual style and collective ISK pride. We look forward to seeing the many ways our community brings this celebratory fabric to life. Stay tuned for details on availability!
