Beyond the Classroom

The ISK Activities program is designed to inspire curiosity, spark creativity, and cultivate a culture of empathy across all divisions. Spanning Grades 1 to 12, our inclusive program offers a vast array of after-school activities, technical clubs, and powerful service learning pathways without any additional fees. Whether our youngest learners are experimenting with robotics, Middle Schoolers are producing news broadcasts, or High School students are spearheading award-winning sustainability initiatives with our local partners, our students are shaping a better tomorrow, today

Elementary School Activities (Grades 1-5)

Our Elementary program offers 40+ after-school activities that focus on discovery, foundational skill-building, and fun. Activities are tailored across three distinct 10-week seasons throughout the academic school calendar to keep young minds and bodies engaged.

Grades 1-2

Young learners can dive into creative arts, Clay Modeling, Sewing Studio, dynamic movement like Inline Skating, Karate, Gymnastics, STEM exploration, Robotics and Coding, and Strawbees.

Grades 3-5

Older elementary students enjoy enhanced variety, from strategic clubs, 3D Design, Math Olympiad, Debaters, to artistic pursuits, Choir, yearly musical productions, Animation, and a wide range of sports.

 

Middle School Activities (Grades 6-8)

The Middle School program offers 30+ balanced academic enrichment, creative expression, and competitive team sports, allowing students to test their limits and collaborate.

Students can explore technical and creative fields through News TV, Robotics, Glass Cutting and Design, School of Rock, and the Open Art Studio, as well as yearly drama productions alongside core clubs like Math Olympiad and Homework Club.

 

High School Clubs Activities (Grades 9-12)

With over 35+ activities designed to foster leadership, creativity, activity, and service (CAS), our High School programs run throughout the day, before school, during activity blocks, at lunch, and after school. Leadership & service in driving real-world impact through Model United Nations (MUN), National Honor Society (NHS), Global Issues Network, Plastiki Rafiki, and Project Imagine.

Creativity & performance by elevating student voices in the Lion’s Theatre Company, Jazz Combo, Mwangaza Journalism, and Design Studio. Action and recreation through staying energized with the Climbing Club, Outdoor Club, Tukimbie Pamoja, and culinary explorations in Tupike Global Dishes.

Service Learning Pathways Across Divisions

At the International School of Kenya (ISK), Service Learning is an intentional approach to global citizenship. We define it as a powerful cycle of teaching and learning that addresses authentic local needs through active community engagement. Rather than treating service as an isolated event, our students take ownership of sustainable partnerships that evolve dynamically through our school divisions.

High School Clubs Service Learning in Action

High School students drive meaningful change by leading dedicated service clubs that address critical environmental, educational, and social challenges. These clubs serve as a core vehicle for our CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) program, empowering students to turn abstract global citizenship concepts into purposeful partnerships and hands-on initiatives with Kenyan communities.

Through these transformative, student-led experiences, our high schoolers tackle authentic challenges while cultivating a culture of empathy and collective responsibility:
