Intercultural (IC) Trips
A hallmark of the ISK journey, our IC Trips are expertly designed to immerse students in Kenya’s vibrant landscapes and rich cultural traditions. These interdisciplinary adventures inspire students to deepen their self-awareness and broaden their global outlook through challenging, real-world experiences beyond the classroom. ISK’s Intercultural Trips bring holistic education to life—connecting classroom learning to real-world adventure. Students build meaningful relationships, appreciate new perspectives, and ignite a lifelong passion for learning and leadership.
Elementary School
In Elementary School, Intercultural Trips introduce students to meaningful outdoor and experiential learning experiences that nurture curiosity, independence, and personal growth. Through age-appropriate adventures across Kenya, students build confidence, strengthen friendships, and deepen their understanding of the world around them, all while creating unforgettable memories beyond the classroom.
Middle School
Middle School students take part in Intercultural Trips designed to challenge them through experiential learning, teamwork, and personal responsibility in real-world settings. These immersive journeys encourage students to step outside their comfort zones, strengthen character, and connect learning to authentic experiences within an African context—building resilience, empathy, and lifelong memories along the way.
High School
All High School students participate in Intercultural Trips—immersive experiences intentionally designed to deepen interdisciplinary learning, strengthen character, and foster personal growth beyond the classroom. Through extended journeys in diverse settings across Africa, students are challenged to step outside their comfort zones, develop independence and responsibility, and build meaningful connections with people, places, and perspectives. These experiences not only enrich learning, but also create lasting memories that shape who students become.
Work Experience
The Grade 10 Work Experience program bridges the gap between classroom learning and the professional world. Through immersive placements in diverse workplaces across Nairobi, students discover their passions while developing practical skills, building professional networks, and fostering a strong sense of responsibility. Grade 10 students discover their passions and talents as they immerse themselves in real-world workplaces through the transformative ISK Work Experience Program.
Rooted in our Mission, Vision, and Educational Aims, this program cultivates lifelong skills and mindsets, enabling students to:
- Take ownership of their learning journey and develop a strong sense of responsibility.
- Engage with real-world challenges in authentic settings.
- Build professional relationships and networks.
- Gain practical, hands-on knowledge transferable to the classroom and beyond.
Before their placements, students participate in our Advisory Program, exploring career options through sessions on resume writing, building an online presence, and developing interview skills. They also attend a career fair, where professionals from a wide range of industries share their journeys and real-world insights, broadening students’ perspectives and sparking inspiration.
Since 2015, students have explored careers in fields as diverse as medicine, law, engineering, aviation, conservation, design, technology, advocacy, and the arts, broadening their horizons and fueling their ambitions. The Work Experience program is a springboard for informed choices, empowering students to shape their academic and career futures with confidence and clarity.
